The illustrious engagement ring and weddings bands are symbols of commitment, union and love. Of course, all these are in our souls and we don’t need a ring to prove our endearment. However, it can’t hurt to have it always on your finger - even when your partner is not there. There is a special connection between two people who wear twin rings blessed by their adoration and attachment.
We invited Stephanie from PristineCustomRings to tell us more about these tokens of devotion. Together with her fiancé, they create custom engagement rings and wedding bands to meet their customers’ most dreamy designs.
What type of rings do you make?
We make any style ring and specialize in custom made engagement rings and wedding bands. We use Charles and Colvard or Harrogem brands for moissanite, as a high quality diamond alternative that meets many budgets. We like to mix it up using gemstones or moissanite as the center stone and accented with genuine diamonds for that added sparkle.
How did you start creating wedding rings?
I joined with my fiancé in 2011; he has been in the business for 35 years. Together we have made a fabulous team. I have always been in the fashion, design and beauty business so this was an easy addition for me.
What is the basic process you go through to make a wedding ring?
We first gather information and images of rings our customer likes. Then, with that information, I design the custom blended ring. Next, we have the CAD team create 3D images for the customer to preview and approve. Once the ring is approved, we create the wax mould and cast the ring. We also hand select all of the gems and diamonds we will use to have our in house Goldsmiths assemble the new creation.
What are a few common ring styles that you offer, and what are the benefits of each?
I have found that there are 3 types of ladies. Classic, Vintage and Modern/Trendy. We sell a lot of diamond halo ring variations. Some newer styles ladies love are the "hidden halo" and the "falling halo". We can add as many diamonds all over the ring for a ring that sparkles for days OR we can make a simpler Art Deco/ vintage style ring. Big rings using colored gems for the main stone are what is trending these days.
What advice would you give to someone on choosing the right ring?
Be open minded in your selection, whether using a traditional diamond or moissanite or gemstone. Ladies love to be involved with the engagement ring buying process now more than ever. Ladies also love creating a one of a kind ring. I work with both sides during the process and often times the lady will let her soon to be step in and wrap things up to keep that element of surprise :)
Any other advice you’d add?
Enjoy the process, and do your research before selecting a jeweler, check their reviews and take into consideration the length of time they have been in business.
With a thoughtful designer like Stephanie your wedding rings will have a personal character and will be valued tokens of your love.
